Welcome to the PSBA Network

The PSBA Network is a next generation network which provides a single communications and information transport platform for Wales, capable of aggregating demand for high-speed connectivity across the different public sectors. It will touch every corner of public services, from local government to health, education and emergency services across the public service delivery community.

The PSBA Network is seen as an enabler for achieving more effective co-operation, co-ordination and introduction of public service delivery improvements across the whole of the Welsh public sector.  Co-ordination and a common vision across the ICT agenda are fundamental to the realisation of these benefits. This will be achieved through enabling organisations to work together better, help lower costs and improve service delivery standards.

The PSBA Network represents a new and innovative delivery model for shared services in the public sector. The collaborative working that has been required across sectors in order to ensure that PSBA Network meet all stakeholders’ needs not only underlines the potential for achieving the vision, but also serves as an enabler as cross sector discussions are initiated and the associated boundaries are removed.

First GP Practices Switch to PSBA

The health sector is now migrating to the new PSBA network.  Six GP practices, in the Merthyr Tydfil and Pontypridd areas, are leading the way as early adopters. They switched to the new network recently and several immediately reported a noticeable improvement in performance.
